Garden Journal – A yearly overview

It’s been ages but a year is the standard gardening unit of time.

So here goes my gardening retrospective for Winter/Spring/Summer/Autumn of 2023-2024.

Another plant haul is on the horizon before the end of Autumn.

This is the south facing wall but it gets a lot of shade from the (last) remaining fig tree.

List of plants I’m considering :

• Hydrangeas
• Rose bushes
• a climbing vine
• Enkianthus
• Kerria
• a yew ?

Have to look seriously into shrubs. Blah.

Also the work on the house is coming along so December can be the month we enjoy our brand-spanking new ground floor after a job well done. (The fact that the job itself is the very strenuous act of buying and planting plants – aka possibly one of my favorite things to do in the world – is beside the point ….^^)
